Syllogism ( For Percussion & Electronics) is a piece for 3 snare drums (sans snares), and 6 wood blocks of varying pitches. Although the foundation of the piece is the 3 percussionists creating polyrhythms resulting in a repetitve meter of 11, this is not what I consider the focus of the piece. Rather, it's a grounding for the "accidental" melodies that occur when the percussionists select between each of their 2 woodblocks, at given accented parts in their particular rhythms.

Microphones are placed underneath the percussion where it is electronically manipulated via a computer. A further manipulation of the sound takes place, when feedback is created as the player holds a microphone to the speaker, "playing" the feedback at her choosing. In the end, the "remnants" of the organic percussion are treated, so that they can go on to play an essential, sonic role in the piece.
